After my second time at Saigon Boy, I decided it was time to post a review. It’s a quiet restaurant with amazing food, the best Vietnamese I’ve had in Ottawa so far. Really fast and friendly service. The rice dishes have a great amount of meat. The large pho bowls are enormous and super tasty. The fried spring rolls are crispy and flavorful.

This is the best Vietnamese place in Ottawa and definitely one of the best ANYWHERE. My fav dish is the beef Bun (#43) - and the included crunchy spring rolls are probably the best I’ve had. The staff are also super friendly. Highly recommended!

**** Solid 4.5 Stars **** Toronto pho connoisseur in Ottawa looking for a pho fix. Decided on Saigon Boy due to the close proximity to my downtown hotel, positive reviews, and the fact that they have beef tendon. Lesser pho restaurants don't offer tendon and mostly stick to rare beef, brisket, and beef balls so I knew they were more on the "authentic" side. I arrived on a Saturday evening in the thick of dinner hour. The restaurant was full and they had a party of 4 waiting for a table - a good sign. Thankfully they had a small table available and I was able to be seated immediately. I ordered a medium size rare beef and tendon pho. I felt the topping portions were generous and did not feel as though they skimped out at all. The rare beef was some of the best I've had - well sliced thin and very tender. The tendon was also perfect bite sized, very tender and delicious. The broth was on the lighter side from what I am used to - it could've used a touch more salt to suit my taste. I added some table black pepper to perk up my broth. My only *very* minor and picky criticisms: - they don't serve sawtooth coriander with the basil and beansprouts - they don't use authentic Huy Fong sriracha sauce - it was some other sriracha that is spicier than Huy Fong which I didn't mind at all Cash and debit only. Ample street parking.

The best place for pho in Ottawa. I have tried five places in Ottawa. This is the only one I go back. I go every month. Their pho is consistently tasty. I really like that their soup is very flavourful and all types of meat taste so good. Fresh spring rolls with grilled pork are great. Rice vermicelli with grilled pork and spring roll was great. It has a good portion of fresh shredded lettuce, cucumber, and carrot, so it tastes refreshing.

Our first time there and we absolutely loved it. We had the veggie spring rolls, pork spring rolls, avocado shake, chicken & beef rice noodle soup, and pork & shrimp rice noodle soup. Very reasonably priced, good portion size, delicious food, clean and tidy restaurant, very polite, attentive, and friendly staff, and we didn’t wait long for our food. We’re definitely going back as soon as we can. Thank you for the great experience!!

I enjoyed pho here a number of years ago now and was delighted to return for dinner. I got the house special Saigon boy pho and was very delighted. They did not cheap out on the meat. I loved the flavor of the broth. They bring tea and water. It was easy. Just cash or debit. It was a very short wait to eat and it was a delight from start to finish. Highly recommend!

Not all phonare crested equally. Saigon Boy Noodle House makes a great bowl of pho. The broth was clear, and flavourful. They give you a lot of meat and herbs to satisfy your pho craving. I ordered a Saigon Boy special.
